The success of cohort companies depends on the support of our extensive network of world-class mentors. Mentors volunteer their time to facilitate workshops, coach companies 1-on-1, and share their business knowledge to help companies make progress towards their key growth milestones. We have dozens of experienced professionals in our growing mentor network.

David King – Finance and Accounting Consultant, DivideByN, LLC
David King is a finance and accounting executive with over 20 years of experience in the dynamic start-up community in Austin, Texas. He has been the co-founder of angel and venture-backed tech start-ups where he was instrumental in developing the vision and the financial/operating plans for each company that led to successful funding and multiple exits to public companies including CMGI, Digital Impact and Sony. David hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is also a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and a CPA. Kevin Soules – Patent Attorney, Loza & Loza
I am a registered patent attorney, specializing in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for complex technology. I also handle trademark and copyright matters. Intellectual property related to start ups, physical devices, electromechanical devices, industrial technology, and telecommunications.
Mark Gilboard – Director of Marketing Strategy / Business Consultant & Trainer, WESST
17+ year Marketing & Advertising Professional Small Businesses of all types. Mark Gilboard joined WESST in 2017 after 16+ years as a marketing and advertising research professional with Nielsen Media Research and Clear Channel Outdoor. He focuses on helping people achieve their entrepreneurial dreams with careful and insightful guidance and enthusiasm. Prior to embarking on his corporate career, Mark taught college courses in Media, and Communications, at both CNM and UNM. He has a Master’s Degree in Communication from UNM and Bachelor’s Degrees in both Rhetoric and Spanish from Bates College, in Lewiston, Maine. Mark believes Albuquerque is a great place to build successful businesses, and an especially great place to start and raise families. He lives in the Ridgecrest area of town with his wife Kristen and two daughters – Anneliese and Nola, plus a bevy of beasts – canine, feline and reptilian.
Vanessa Roanhorse – CEO, Roanhorse Consulting
Someone once called me a generalist, and that is probably because I have worked as a butcher in a butcher shop, an editor for commercials and short films, a property manager for a large downtown Chicago skyscapper, a program manager for local and national scale energy efficiency efforts and now am a CEO of a consulting company and co-founder of an Indigenous woman powered movement. I am good in chaos. Real estate, financial tech tools, tech enabled tools, entrepreneurship etal, capital access and barriers.
